May 2026 — Initial publication

Database goes live with 154 active programs across 6 tiers (federal, state, regional, utility, county, city) and 6 funding mechanisms (cash rebate, tax credit, competitive grant, make-ready, voucher, fee waiver / expedited permit).

Highlights of what's in the v1 dataset:

Confirmed CALeVIP 1.0 regional projects (Bay Area Incentive, Alameda County, Peninsula-Silicon Valley, Central Coast) are fully closed. CALeVIP 2.0 is the active framework.
Confirmed SDG&E Power Your Drive for Apartments and Workplaces are closed to new applications. San Diego currently relies on federal §30C plus SDAPCD for charger funding.
Confirmed Liberty Utilities Tahoe rebate sunset end of 2025. Removed from the active list. South Lake Tahoe ZIPs now show federal + adjacent PG&E programs.
Tagged the federal §30C credit with its 2026-06-30 termination date per the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). The site auto-filters §30C from the active list after that date.
27 high-traffic programs got hand-written summaries in the EVgpo voice. Remaining 127 programs got auto-generated summaries from structured data — flagged for editorial review on next refresh.
Property type taxonomy split: "commercial" (overlapping ambiguous category) replaced with separate Workplace and Public Access types. School / Government added as a distinct type.

July 2026 — Targeted verification pass

Re-verified the 8 programs flagged Verify Before Applying directly against their administering agencies. Live database moves from 154 to 150 active programs.

CALeVIP 2.0 Golden State Priority Project (Northern & Southern) — closed. The Sept–Dec 2023 application window and its waitlist period have both expired; CALeVIP now directs DCFC applicants to the Fast Charge California Project (FCCP) Window 2 (2026) and Window 3 (2027) instead.
CALeVIP 2.0 Golden State Priority Project (Eastern & Central) — closed, for the same reason.
City of West Sacramento Plug-In Partnership — closed. The one-time 2018 SACOG grant that funded this program has been fully deployed; no open application path for new commercial applicants.
Redwood Coast Energy Authority "Commercial EV Rebate" — removed. Confirmed this is a $2,000 vehicle-purchase rebate, not a charging-infrastructure program — out of scope for this database.
CEC Medium- and Heavy-Duty ZEV Port Infrastructure Block Grant (GFO-24-610) — moved to Between Rounds. CEC paused the solicitation July 2025 for requirement changes; Addendum 9 issued January 2026, not yet reopened.
Placer County APCD — moved to Active. Confirmed a real annual Clean Air Grant Program (up to $3M program-wide, EV charging eligible); most recent window closed May 31, 2026.
EnergIIZE Jump Start and Siskiyou County APCD — remain flagged Verify Before Applying. No confirmed current-cycle status for either; both need a direct check next refresh.

Also confirmed the federal §30C sunset (June 30, 2026) is handled automatically — the site hides §30C from live results client-side for anyone browsing after that date, no manual data change required.
